Product(s) Recalled:  ''Freybe'' sliced ''French Brand Herb Salami'' in 4.4-ounce packages; ''Freybe'' sliced ''Hungarian Brand Salami'' in 4.4-ounce packages and ''Freybe'' ''Westfalian Ham'' in whole pieces of random weights.
Production Dates/Identifying Codes: Production dates not available. The ''French Brand Herb Salami'' bears a best before date of ''OC 06''; the ''Hungarian Brand Salami'' bears a best before date of ''OC 18'' and the ''Westfalian Ham'' bears a best before date of ''AU 09''. All products are marked ''PRODUCT OF CANADA'' and bear the number 361 in the Canadian mark of inspection.
Problem/Reason for Recall: The products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
How/When Discovered: On May 19, 2000 the Canadian Food Inspection Agency notified the USDA, Food Safety and Inspection Service that the products had been exported to the United States. They were being recalled because of possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes discovered through routine monitoring by the CFIA.
