The label on each package bears the product name, ''Mortadella'', the brand name ''Three Star Provision Co.'', and the establishment number 4500 in the USDA mark of inspection. The shipping containers (cases) bear the identification number A-2-22 1 corresponding to the production date.
Problem/Reason for Recall: Possible Salmonella contamination.
How/When Discovered: The recall is in response to the positive finding of Salmonella by the Food Safety and Inspection Service through its routine microbiological testing program.
