Product(s) Recalled:  ''Callaway Ground Beef'' products.
Production Dates/Identifying Codes: The products are packed in institutional type packages and sold as fresh and frozen products. The following identification marks are on the shipping containers and boxes, Est. 688, Callaway Packing, Inc., Delta Colorado, and code 1101 (corresponding to the production date February 10, 2000):
  1. Beef Patty Mix in 10-pounds.
  2. Beef Patties in 12-pound boxes.
  3. Ground Beef in 5 and 10-pounds bags in boxes.
  4. Beef Cube Steak Special (a ground product) in 12-pound boxes.
Problem/Reason for Recall: Potential Escherichia coli O157:H7 contamination.
How/When Discovered: An FSIS microbiological monitoring sample was collected on February 10, 2000, and reported positive for E. coli O157: H7 on February 15, 2000.
