Production Dates/Identifying Codes: The product completed the production process on January 12, 2000, and was packaged on the same day. The product is sold as one pound rings with attached labels that bears the product's name, ''Koenemann's Holsteiner,'' and the establishment number 7788 in the USDA mark of inspection.
Problem/Reason for Recall: Possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
How/When Discovered: The recall is in response to the finding of Listeria monocytogenes by the Food Safety and Inspection Service through its routine microbiological testing program.
