WASHINGTON, Jan. 11, 2011 - Lettieri's Foods, Inc., a Shakopee, Minn., establishment is recalling approximately
101,629 pounds of "Breakfast Stackers Sausage, Egg & Cheese" products because they contain monosodium glutamate
(MSG) which is not declared on the product labels.
The products subject to recall include: [View Labels]
- 3.75 lbs. cases containing 12 individual 5.5-oz. packages of "Lettieri's Breakfast Stackers Sausage, Egg & Cheese within a flakey biscuit."
- 3.75 lbs. cases containing 12 individual 5.5-oz. packages of "Real Time Café Breakfast Stacker Sausage, Egg & Cheese within a flakey pastry."
Each package bears establish number "EST. 19109" within the USDA mark of inspection. The products were produced between
Aug. 2010 and Dec. 2010. Cases containing "Lettieri's Breakfast Stackers Sausage, Egg & Cheese within a flakey biscuit"
were distributed to Calif., Fla., Minn., N.C., Tenn. and Wis. Cases containing "Real Time Café Breakfast Stacker Sausage,
Egg & Cheese within a flakey pastry" were distributed to Calif., Colo., Minn. and Wash.
The problem was discovered by the company during the label review process. FSIS has received no reports of adverse reactions due to
consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a physician.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are
taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
