New Working Groups:
Committee on Fats & Oils (CCFO)
- Argentina will chair an electronic Working Group (eWG), working in English,
to revise a discussion paper amending the Standard for Named Vegetable Oils
(Codex STAN 210) by changing the reference values for sunflower seed oil.
Interested parties in the United States should send their names, official titles,
and email addresses of their designated representatives to U.S. Delegate Martin
Stutsman (martin.stutsman@fda.hhs.gov). Other Codex members and observer organizations interested in participating should send their contact information to the Argentinean Codex Contact Point (ewgsunfloweroil@minagri.gob.ar)
by September 10.
- Iran will chair an eWG on Cold Pressed Oils, working in English, to prepare
a revised discussion paper, including a project document, for the addition of
walnut oil, pistachio oil, hemp seed oil and hazelnut oil to the Standard for
Named Vegetable Oils. Interested parties in the United States should send their
names, official titles, and email addresses of their designated representatives
to U.S. Delegate Martin Stutsman (martin.stutsman@fda.hhs.gov).
Other Codex members and observer organizations interested in participating
should send their contact information to Mr Hamed Safafar (hamedsafa@yahoo.com)
and to Mrs Zahra Piravi Vanak (zpiravi@gmail.com).
Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Purposes (CCNFSDU)
- India will lead an eWG, working in English, to prepare a proposed draft amendment
tothe Standard for Processed Cereal-Based Foods for Infants and Young Children
(CODEX74-1981) with a new Part B on underweight children. Interested parties in
the UnitedStates should send their names, official titles, and email addresses
of their designatedrepresentatives to U.S. Delegate Barbara Schneeman(barbara.schneeman@fda.hhs.gov). Other Codex members and observer organizationsinterested in participating should send their contact information to the Indian CodexContact Point (ccnfsduindia@gmail.com)
by August 31.
