in preparation for the upcoming meetings of the committees on Food Additives (CCFA), General Principles (CCGP), and
Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Foods (CCRVDF). The colloquium was attended by delegates from Belize, Brazil, Chile,
Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Peru, St. Lucia, the United States, and Uruguay.

Comments Requested
The Committee on Milk and Milk Products (CCMMP) requests information on trade problems
anticipated with the prospect of discontinuing work on the proposed standard for processed cheese. The Committee
recommended to the Codex Commission in 2010 that work be discontinued in consideration of the inability of the
Committee to agree on a proposed standard. The Commission referred the matter to the regional committees for comment;
the Commission in 2011 considered the divergent views of the regional committees and decided to request further
information from member countries and observer organizations. The circular letter requesting comments is available
on our companion page (http://www.fsis.usda.gov/codex_alimentarius/ Codex_Committee_Milk/index.asp).
Parties interested in contributing to the U.S. response should send their comments to the U.S. Codex Office
(USCodex@fsis.usda.gov)
by February 13. International organizations may send their comments directly to the CCMMP Secretariat
(CodexNZ@maf.govt.nz) with a copy to the Codex Secretariat
(codex@fao.org), by the February 17, 2012 deadline set in the circular letter.
